Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Keep My Carpet Looking New?
Vacuum your carpet frequently and thoroughly. We recommend at least two times per week and more often in high traffic areas. Dirt can cause carpet to wear quicker. Oily soils attract more soil. Keep in mind that bare feet can be oily.Frequent vacuuming will reduce soil buildup.
Treat stains quickly! We recommend a micro fiber cloth to blot your spills. Prompt attention will produce the best results. Most stains can be removed by an approved CRI (Carpet and Rug Institute) cleaning agent. The longer a stain chemically reacts with the carpet the harder it will be to remove it.
Test carpet before scrubbing, extracting or spotting. All carpets are different. Some carpets are very sensitive to cleaners and could lose their color quickly. Choose an area that will be inconspicuous, such as a corner. We recommend using products that are safe for pets, children and the environment. Read product directions carefully. Use appropriate spotters starting with the mildest. Do not use harsh spotting agents.
We sell many great carpet care products at Carpet Mill Outlet USA.
Do not overuse detergents, shampoos or spotters. Too much detergent will result in a sticky residue left in the carpet and will attract even more soil. Do not over wet or steam clean carpet. Over-wetting can cause brownout, carpet shrinkage and adhesion problems. Steam cleaning could make your carpets delaminate which means the backing could come away from the carpet fiber. It could also cause the twist to come out of the carpet yarn. Warm water extraction will flush out dirt and other organisms deep in the carpet. This is the method most carpet manufacturers recommend. Use a professional carpet cleaning company at least once a year.
