Hand scraped floors are a step back in time. Before the days of sanding machines, wooden floors were hand scraped with special tools before they were finished. The main difference in the old methods and those of today is that today's hand scraped floors are done board by board before they are installed. In many ways the craftsmanship is even greater today than in the past.
